You may have been hearing a lot lately about body contouring, and with good reason. Men and women who have made healthy changes to their bodies with diet and exercise are looking for safe, non-surgical alternatives to address those stubborn pockets of fat (think double chin, love handles or muffin tops!) that refuse to budge.
“Body contouring” is a blanket term used for minimally invasive procedures that help firm and tighten lax skin in these areas, as well as targeting underlying fatty deposits. There are several FDA-approved therapies helping these clients see real, lasting results. Here are a few of the treatments we offer here at Lewisville Laser:
SculpSure & Smartlipo
SculpSure® is a breakthrough in light-based body contouring, designed to reduce stubborn fat in problem areas such as the abdomen and love handles without downtime.
Smartlipo® allows you to remove the fat you don’t want with minimal downtime and less pain than traditional liposuction. It also tightens the skin¹ to achieve the shape you desire.
So which one is right for you?
Here are a few facts about each one.
Here are some frequently asked questions about Sculpsure:
Is SculpSure right for me?
SculpSure is ideal for people with trouble spots, particularly those areas that seem resistant to diet and exercise.
How many treatments will I need?
Every patient is different. Most patients see the best results when they have a series of treatments.
What should I expect during the treatment?
Most patients feel a deep warmth and tingling sensation intermittently throughout the treatment which is generally well tolerated. A typical treatment takes just 25 minutes!
How long before I can resume normal activities?
There is no recovery period or downtime with SculpSure, so you can have the treatment and return to normal activities immediately.
When will I see results?
Patients may start to see results as early as 6 weeks following treatment as the body begins to evacuate the destroyed fat cells, with optimal results typically seen at 12 weeks.
Here are some frequently asked questions about Smartlipo:
How does it work?
Smartlipo is designed exclusively to perform laser-assisted lipolysis, commonly referred to as laser liposuction. The laser literally melts fat, which is removed with gentle suction. At the same time, tissue coagulates through laser energy that is delivered, contributing to an overall smoother shape.
Where can I get it?
Abdomen, thighs, hips, buttock, arms, back and chest.
What results can I expect?
For most people, results are achieved in just one treatment. Results can be seen within a week, with continued improvement over 3–6 months. Treatment plans can be adjusted to fit everyone’s lifestyle – speak to your provider regarding desired downtime, comfort and results.*
*Individual results may vary and are not guaranteed.

Fat cleared from the treatment area is processed through your body’s natural metabolism.
How many treatment sessions will I need?
Your healthcare provider will help you determine how many treatment sessions you need based on the amount and distribution of your submental fat and your personal treatment goals. Each treatment would be spaced a month apart from each other.
What can I expect after my treatment session?
For most patients, downtime occurred most commonly right after the treatment session. You should be able to resume your daily activities, but are likely to have swelling so keep your work commitments and social plans in mind when scheduling. Prior to your treatment, your healthcare provider may apply ice packs to the treatment area. Applying the ice pack after treatment is also recommended.
